Their corporate motto is “we try harder” which has become very true since they are the second largest car rental company in the world. The headquarters for this company is in Parsippany, New Jersey. Avis and Budget Rent A Car are owned by Cendent Car Rental Group which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cendent. There are currently over four thousand branch offices of Avis worldwide including area of the world like Australia, Central America, New Zealand and Africa.
Avis specializes in moving vehicles and as such offers a wide variety of trucks, vans and even eighteen wheelers. It was a big success and several commercials were made telling the true stories of people being helped above and beyond the job description.
The most noteworthy, current, Avis commercial is one where three young executives are enjoying XM Satellite radio, which is included in all premium and luxury Avis vehicles. Their boss walks in and asks about some reports. They look at each other and laugh then punch up the locations of what their boss needed. Then the boss looks up and thanks them and leaves. At that point they go back to listening to their “gangsta rap” music.
