The appeal of Dollar Rent A Car is that they rent out used, cheaper vehicles for a low, discounted price. This company also owns Thrifty Rent A Car and is a sister corporation to them.
Dollar Rent A Car is based in the Unites States. In nineteen sixty-five the company was founded in Los Angeles, California. Chrysler acquired the company in nineteen ninety where it was combined with Thrifty Rent A Car, Snappy Rent A Car, Eurodollar and General Rent A Car. The company was combined into the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group in nineteen ninety-seven and to this date, they still own both Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Rent A Car. Snappy Rent A Car and General Rent A Car were sold or shut down in nineteen ninety-three to nineteen ninety-four.
The company has over six hundred locations throughout the world, mostly franchised. Some locations are owned through the company directly. The company primarily rents Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles even though some of the franchise businesses feature more widely known brands such as Mazda, Nissan and Toyota.

The Dodge Stratus is a mid-sized rental. The Dodge Magnum is a full-sized rental. The Chrysler Pacifica is a premium rental. The Chrysler 300 Touring is a luxury rental. The Chrysler Sebring is a convertible rental. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a SUV rental. The Chrysler PT Cruiser is a specialty rental. The Dodge Caravan is a van rental. The Dodge Ram 1500 is a pickup rental.
At Dollar.com you can find rates and make reservations. You can check out their locations online as well as look at the selection of vehicles per car type as listed above. There are special rates for members and several hot deals and car specials.
One of their current deals is a “Going to the Southwest?” offer. Premium vehicles as low as thirty-four dollars per day, sport utility vehicles as low as thirty-nine dollars per day and luxury vehicles as low as fifty-five dollars per day. Car types and rates vary by location of course. Available pick up locations include Las Vegas International, Ontario, California International, Palm Springs Regional, San Diego International and Tucson International airports.
