from:Avis Rent A Car System is a major car rental company that was founded in nineteen forty-six in Detroit by Warren Avis. Their corporate motto is “we try harder” which has become very true since they are the second largest car rental company in the world. Avis has over five thousand branches worldwide and can cater to your spending needs with a nice vehicle to drive while your car is being repaired or while you are on vacation.
The headquarters for this company is in Parsippany, New Jersey. Avis and Budget Rent A Car are owned by Cendent Car Rental Group which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cendent. There are currently over four thousand branch offices of Avis worldwide including area of the world like Australia, Central America, New Zealand and Africa.
Avis specializes in moving vehicles and as such offers a wide variety of trucks, vans and even eighteen wheelers. If you need to move a long distance over the continent than you should check the rates at Avis first and use that as a guideline for all your other comparisons. Avis offers weekend getaways for the more touristy locations. Places such as Florida, California, Ohio, Vancouver and Mexico offer in town weekend deals that start at seventeen US dollars. They are able to quote such low rates since they are the number one rental community in the world.
As a part of their fortieth anniversary of “We Try Harder” they asked their employees to vote per location on “Who Tries Hardest”. They wanted their customers to write in about an extraordinary story with an Avis employee to get some free mileage on their next Avis purchase. It was a big success and several commercials were made telling the true stories of people being helped above and beyond the job description.
The most noteworthy, current, Avis commercial is one where three young executives are enjoying XM Satellite radio, which is included in all premium and luxury Avis vehicles. Their boss walks in and asks about some reports. They look at each other and laugh then punch up the locations of what their boss needed. Then the boss looks up and thanks them and leaves. At that point they go back to listening to their “gangsta rap” music.
